Hiking Tours










Enjoy a private guided tour on some of Arizona’s best hiking trails. The rolling Sonoran Desert, towering cacti, and beautiful mountains form an absolutely stunning backdrop for our adventure tours. Hiking is a fun activity that everyone can enjoy and requires no special skills.

With dozens of great Sonoran Desert trails to choose from, where do you start? At Arizona Adventure Guides we eliminate the guesswork and save you time. A variety of hikes are available, from modest rolling desert to challenging mountain terrain. We will help you pick the trails best suited for you and your group.

  • Note: All of our tours are private so that we cater to your pace, your skill level and your expectations.

Trail Description

The Jewel of the Creek trail area is a desert oasis filled with towering cottonwood and willow trees along Cave Creek, at the northern edge of the Town of Cave Creek and bordering the Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area. This property holds one of the last remaining perennial streams in Maricopa County. The unusual year-round presence of water supports a myriad of plant and animal species. Our guides are experienced hikers and will take you on an unforgettable, super fun, and beautiful hike along the creek.



  • Hiking tours are available year round.

Skill Level

  • We offer tours for all fitness and skill levels including beginner, intermediate, advanced and expert hikers.


  • We allow hikers ages 10 and above as long as they are able to hike trails.

  • Children are 10-17 years of age.

Meeting Instructions

  • We will meet you at the Oregano's Pizza restaurant parking lot in Cave Creek. You will see a red four door lifted jeep and your tour guide waiting for you. From here you can follow us to the Jewel of the Creek trailhead.


  • Due to the risk of COVID-19 exposure to our guests and guides from riding in a vehicle together, all guests are asked to meet their guide at the designated trailhead. Address and directions will be provided.


Below is a list of required and recommended equipment for your hiking adventure. Dressing properly and having the correct equipment will help our guides provide a safer and more fun experience for your group. Though we cannot control the weather, we can make sure that you are prepared for whatever conditions we encounter in this desert environment.

  • Comfortable hiking, walking or running shoes. No open toed footwear or dress shoes.

  • Back Pack (provided)

  • Water / Water Bottles (provided)

  • Snacks (provided)

  • Sunscreen (provided)

  • Thermal layer and/or lightweight insulated jacket (recommended)

  • Rain Jacket (optional)

  • Rain Pants (optional)

  • Wide-brimmed hat or baseball cap (recommended)

  • Sunglasses (recommended)

  • Trekking poles (optional)

  • Rates do not include taxes, online booking fee, or tip.


  • Our best adventure tour guides typically earn a tip of 20% or more from their guests.

Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellations made 3 days or more before your scheduled tour will receive a full refund.

  • Cancellations made less than 3 days before your scheduled tour will not be refunded.

  • Cancellations made less than 3 days before your scheduled tour will be given credit for a future tour to be rescheduled for a mutually agreed upon date and time within 60 days of the original tour date.

  • No Shows will not be refunded.

  • If it is necessary for you to cancel your tour due to illness, injury, or apprehensiveness regarding COVID-19, our normal cancellation policy will apply.
